Hodlertribe is a solo project built with respect for your privacy. I collect only what is necessary to provide the services on this site. I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and the security measures in place.

1. Information Collected

Information You Provide

  • Contact form: Name (optional), email address (optional), subject, and message body when you send a message through the contact page.
  • Vault interest poll: Your vote, preferred price selection, and email address (optional) if you choose to participate.
  • Voluntary contributions: If you make a voluntary contribution, payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe. Hodlertribe never sees, stores, or has access to your full card details.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
  • Portfolio feature usage: Anonymous counters record which categories and tickers are used. No amounts, holdings, or personal data is collected.
  • Cookies: Hodlertribe does not currently use cookies. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

2. How Information Is Used

  • To provide and maintain the services on this website.
  • To process voluntary contributions through Stripe.
  • To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
  • To gauge interest in future features (Vault poll).
  • To improve the site based on general usage patterns.
  • To protect the security and integrity of the site.

I do not use your information for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, or automated decision-making.

3. Third Parties and Data Sharing

Your information may be shared with the following third-party services, solely for the purposes described:

  • Stripe (payment processing) — Handles voluntary contribution payments. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
  • CoinGecko (market data) — Provides Bitcoin price data. No personal information is sent.
  • mempool.space (network data) — Provides Bitcoin network statistics. No personal information is transmitted.
  • Blockchain.info (supply data) — Provides Bitcoin supply statistics. No personal information is transmitted.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any other third parties.

4. How Data Is Transmitted

  • All data transmitted between your browser and Hodlertribe is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Payment data is transmitted directly from your browser to Stripe over their own encrypted connection.
  • Database connections use encrypted PostgreSQL connections.

5. Security Measures

I take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • Encryption: All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • No card storage: Payment card details are never stored on Hodlertribe's servers. All payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified).
  • Password protection: Administrative areas are password-protected.
  • No accounts required: All tools work without registration or login.
  • Minimal data collection: I only collect information that is necessary.
  • Local-first portfolio: Your portfolio data is stored in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted.
  • Environment secrets: API keys and sensitive credentials are stored as encrypted environment variables, never in source code.

While I strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I commit to addressing any security issues promptly.

6. Data Retention

  • Contact messages: Retained for as long as needed to respond and resolve inquiries. You may request deletion by contacting me.
  • Poll responses: Retained to evaluate interest in future features.
  • Contribution records: Retained by Stripe according to their data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
  • Portfolio data: Stored locally in your browser only. Hodlertribe has no access to this data and does not retain it on any server.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
